AMI Farm at Augusta Health

The AMI Farm at Augusta Health started in 2018 as a joint venture of AMI and Augusta Health. AMI and Augusta Health shared the vision that access to excellent health care includes access to healthy food. As of January 1, 2024, AMI handed over the reigns to Augusta Health who now manages the farm.

AMI Urban Farm at VSDB

In 2013, AMI partnered with the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind to develop and operate the largest Farm to School program in the state. In 2018, the project graduated from AMI's management and is now independently managed by VSDB, and continues to incorporate farm grown food into the school's cafeteria and curriculum.

Starting in January 2020, AMI worked with Staunton City Schools to add a garden at Bessie Weller Elementary School. During AMI's involvement, students participated in garden programming as it corresponded to the curriculum for their grade level with lesson plans from the garden coordinator.

Waynesboro Public Schools

AMI, alongside Waynesboro Public Schools, embarked on a multi-year farm-to-school initiative funded through a grant provided by the Virginia Department of Education. Gardens were established at Kate Collins Middle School in 2019, and Berkeley Glenn Elementary School in 2021.
